52 Reasons Why I Love My Husband

First of all…
Happy Valentine’s day to everyone!

Being the craft master I am, I wanted to make something different, creative, cute, and romantic for my husband. I’d MUCH rather put time into making something than buy a gift. That’s just me though. 🙂

So of course, where do you go for such creative inspiration? PINTEREST! I saw this idea and KNEW instantly I had to do this for Zed at some point or another. Really, it could be done for anyone on any holiday.

Tutorial | Clothespin Picture Frame

I found this idea on Pinterest (no! really??). I love the old vintage look and the ease of switching out photos.
I picked up this frame from Hobby Lobby a while back as a prop to a photo session. Their frames were on sale so I got it for a pretty good deal. This was very simple to make and didn’t take long at all…given I had a 2 year old trying to work a drill and grabbing screws the entire time. 🙂

You need:

1. A drill

2. Screws

3. Wire, or some sort of cord or string will work too. I used this dark wire from Lowe’s.

4. Craft paint to give the clothespins a worn/distressed look.

5. Wire cutter

6. Clothespins

7. Frame

8. Of course, PICTURES! Which ironically, aren’t pictured. LOL!

Put 6 screws into your frame. You can make your own version. Maybe just 4 (2 rows) for bigger pictures? Just an idea. Wrap your wire around the screws and secure.

Make a hanger for your frame. You can also just put hooks on the back, but I like the hanger. 🙂

Paint your clothespins and let dry. You don’t want to ruin your prints!

Now hang your pictures! Viola! You are all done! Simple right? I love simplicity! And I love when it involves simple DIY.

Until next time,

SS

Happy Birthday to my brother!

June 30 was a great HOT day here in GA. I wanted to do something special for my brother who just turned 25! So the boys and I went out to the park and took the sidewalk chalk. Working on this dark pavement was BRUTAL, but so worth it. 🙂 Here are some pictures of what we did for my awesome brother, Tristan.

And this one is my favorite…..Gavin was MAD because he felt he wasn’t a good enough “artist”…

Tell a story in 5 frames.

So my latest assignment in my DAM class was to create a narrative. As always, I spent MOST of my week THINKING about ideas instead of sticking with the first good idea that came to mind. The weather this week was YUCK, so I wasn’t very inspired to get out and enjoy the weather with my camera.

The basis of my story is this: A man is getting off of work to go meet the girl (obsession) that just broke up with him to get closure. Once with her, he lets his obsessiveness take over and attacks her. Since he can’t have her, no one will. (To sum it all up)

My critique in class went very well. Better than I expected, so it made me happy that my crazy mind didn’t offend or cause dislike in my work. It was ALLLLLL GOOD. 🙂
