A True Treasure Found

Ok…I admit, I am a little behind on this story, BUT…I need to share. It is THAT amazing. I want to say I have heard of Vivian Maier before, but I can’t recall being this inspired by another photographer. EVER. If you don’t know how she got “discovered”, please do your research. It is worth every second.

I just want to know what she said to the people she got close to. Like, a lot of her photos look so posed, but something tells me she didn’t say “Look this way…now cross your legs…fingers together…no smile.”

Please enjoy some of my favorites.

52 Reasons Why I Love My Husband

First of all…
Happy Valentine’s day to everyone!

Being the craft master I am, I wanted to make something different, creative, cute, and romantic for my husband. I’d MUCH rather put time into making something than buy a gift. That’s just me though. 🙂

So of course, where do you go for such creative inspiration? PINTEREST! I saw this idea and KNEW instantly I had to do this for Zed at some point or another. Really, it could be done for anyone on any holiday.

families are forever

When I got the word for this session, it was told to me that I HAD to keep a secret. The children all got together from various places and states to put this session together for their mother’s birthday! Sandy just so happens to be a dear friend of mine, and a second mother to me. I owe her so much, as she has helped me get through some pretty rough times in my life. It was a dream to spend some time with her and her children.

Getting inspiration before the shoot…

love is in the air

I am a bit of a hopeless romantic, ok I AM a hopeless romantic…so you can understand why I get super excited about Valentines Day. As cheesy as it sounds, I am in love with love. I knew deep down in my heart (ok I’m done being a cheeseball) that I would love shooting weddings.

On the other hand, what a perfect day to express to our little ones how much we love them, right? I LOVE shooting weddings, but I will never turn down the opportunity to hang out with little cuties. This Valentine’s Day, grab your little ones (if you don’t have children, just imagine you do) and let them know how much they mean to you!

Fix it Friday | #145 – I Heart Faces

It has been quite a while since I have participated in a “Fix it Friday” over at the I Heart Faces community. So here is the before…and here are my edits…

I think I love the black & white edit because of the haunting lens effect.

Thank you Melissa Gysen at Novel Photographie for providing the image for this week!
